John Patrick Higgins is a writer, illustrator, and filmmaker.
His short fiction has been published in The Black Dreams, The BHF Book of Horror Stories, Fears: An Anthology of Psychological Terror, Exacting Clam, and Weird Horror. He is working on a short fiction collection called No Light in the Trees.
His debut novel, Fine, was published by Sagging Meniscus Press in November 2024, and the same company published his memoir, Teeth: An Oral History, in April 2024. A semi-sequel to Teeth, Spine, was published in June 2025. He aims to catalogue each of his failing body parts as they happen.
He has written and directed two short films: Goat Songs and Muirgen and is writing his first feature.
He lives in Belfast, goes for long walks in the rain, and sings in the post rock band, Ebbing House. Their first album should be out by the end of 2025.
